Biography

According to Sue Watson,

"Jacques Du Gue' married first Judith Soumin, second Elizabeth DuPuy. He escaped to England by April 17,1685 from Be'sance ln Berri, France with his second wife, Elizabeth Dupuy and children. That date was recorded for purchase of 500 acres in Carolina. ( Collection of SC Historical Society Vol 1. page 114) Same year took a grant of land on Newtown Creek.(Motte Alston notes for SC Historical Society, DuGue' , page 26)

1. Jacques who married Marianna Fleury.
2. Judith married Samuel DuBordierx ( St. Phillips's register)
3. Marie married Jacques DuBosc (SCHGM XIX p.21)

Children by second wife Elizabeth DuPuy

1. PIERRE DUGUE' 2. Elizabeth DuGue' married Paul Trapier..
2. Ann DuGue' married Mr. Wragg. .....

Jacques DuGue II and Marianna Fleury had one daughter, Marian who married Tobias Fitch and their daughter Mary married Thomas Livingston in 17149" ...

Elizabeth DuGue' and Pau; Trapier,I had the following children and lived on Broad Street.

1. Paul Trapier,II in 1743 married Magdalen Horry
2. Benjamin, who inherited 1/2 of the plantation Grande Fontaine
3. Alexander Trapier
4. Elizabeth Trapier
5. Judith Trapier,
6. Isaac Trapier who inherited the other half of Grande Fontaine.

All names appear in father's will 1726, proved 1727"
