Biography
James Dun was born in Scotland.
James was born on 3 July 1727 and baptised at Logie-Pert, Angus, Scotland on 13 July[1]
James married Jean Graham about 1750 but no marriage record has been found. They had a son Thomas Dun born at Hack-hill in the parish of Logie Pert on 20 May 1751. [2]
Research Notes
The following children are recorded as children of James Dun and Margaret Brown William 1746 [3] Elizabeth 1748 [4] Jean 1759 [5] Elizabeth 1763[6] Ann 1773[7]
There is also Mary Dun baptised 19 January 1755 with no mother given. [8]
Mary may have had either Jean Graham or Margaret Brown for a mother. There must have been two men named James Dun living in Logie Pert at the time.
