Minerva was born about 1856. Census records seem to generally agree on the year 1856, although her headstone shows 1853. She was the daughter of James Duncan and Mary Virginia Taylor. She married William Cornell Thompson in December 1873 in Missouri. She passed away in 1915 and is buried in the Bear Creek Cemetery in Hamilton County, Kansas.
