Biography

Sarah was born in 1844 in Indiana. Her father was from Ohio and her mother was from Alabama. She married George William Merk on 12/26/1868 in Miami, Kansas. In 1870 George and Elizabeth were living with their children in Plattsmouth, Cass, Nebraska where George was a tinner. By 1880 the family was settled in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, California where George was a farmer. Elizabeth was widowed in 1902. by 1910 she was living with her children in San Rafael, Marin, California. She died 9/15/1931 in California and is buried with family members in the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery (Plot Rural WHC 52).
