Lonnie Lee Dunn, 94, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Dr. Chuck Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening, July 14, 2017 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Bruce, MS, to George Washington and Taver Ward Dunn, Mr. Dunn was a retired transportation supervisor with the Oxford School District and was the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church. He loved his family and friends and was a devoted Christian man. He enjoyed being outside and working on his farm. Mr. Dunn was a Private First-Class veteran of the United States Army. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorene Liles Dunn.
Mr. Dunn is survived by his wife, Brenda Dunn of Oxford, MS; daughter, Linda Dunn Echols and her husband, Tom of Oxford, MS; sons, James (Jim) Rodgers Dunn of Hernando, MS and Terry Lynn Dunn of Southaven, MS; a sister, Idell Duncan of Houston, MS; a brother, Henry "Bud" Dunn of Water Valley, MS; a step-daughter, Laura Gossett of Oxford, MS: twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

In honor of Mr. Dunn's service to his country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
