Richard, child of George Durbridge & Jane Durbridge, was baptised on 2 August 1818 in Dorchester, Oxfordshire, England.[1]
Richard and Louisa Durbridge and their children emigrated to Western Australia in 1854. My notes from The Bicentennial Dictionary of Western Australians refer to the following: "DURBRIDGE, Richard, b1819 (Middlesex) arr. 14.10.1854 per Esmeralda with wife and 5 ch; m. Louisa b. 1817. Children Henry b. 1839, Emily b. 1841, Ann b. 1842, Alfred b. 1844, John b. 1851. Carpenter. To South Australia per Estrella da Norte 9.10.1857."
The family had moved on (by 1861) from Adelaide to Melbourne, where Richard and Louisa died. (One of their grandsons was to move to Sydney and change his surname to DELBRIDGE.)
