Biography

Jacob was born in 1817. He was christened the 4th of May, 1817 at Perranarworthal, Cornwall, England.[1] Jacob's parents were Jacob and Lidia Eddy.[2]

On the 29th of September, 1838, Jacob married Hannah Manley at St. Agnes Parish Church, St. Agnes, Cornwall, England.[3] The parish register shows that both Jacob and Hannah were members of the parish.[4]

The 1841 England and Wales Census shows Jacob (24), Hannah (26), and Mary Ann (0 days) in residence at Penstrose Moors, Kea, Cornwall, England.[5]

In 1849, William John Eddy was born. He was christened the 24th of July, 1849 at St. Agnes parish church, St. Agnes, Cornwall, England.[6]

James Henry Eddy was baptized the 24th of July, 1849 at St. Agnes parish church, St. Agnes, Cornwall, England.[7]

The 1851 England and Wales Census shows that Jacob (33), Hannah (37), and their children resided in St. Agnes, Cornwall, England.[8] Jacob is listed as a "Labourer."[9] Jacob and Hannah's children and their ages are listed on the Census as follows: Maryanna (10); Thomas H. (9); William J. (3); and James H. (1).[10] The family's birthplaces are listed as follows on the Census and are all in Cornwall: Hannah, Kenwyn; Jacob (father), St. Agnes; Maryanna, Kea; Thomas H., Kenwyn; William J., Kenwyn; and James H., St. Agnes.[11]


Jacob passed away on the 17th of September, 1900.
