Mary was born about 1829.
Henry Lanchbury and Mary Edgington were married by banns in Coombe, Oxfordshire on 27th April 1851[1]. Henry was 28, a widower working as a labourer and living in Long Coombe, the son of William who was a labourer. Mary was 22, a spinster working as a labourer and living in Wootton, Berks, the daughter of John Edgington who was a labourer. Mary signed her own name on the register whilst Henry could only make his mark with a cross, and the witnesses to the marriage were Edward Lanchbury and Hannah Mansell[2].
Thomas Laitt and Mary Launchbry were married in Church Hanborough, Oxfordshire on 18th January 1873[3]. They were widower and widow and both of full age. Thomas was a labourer living in Hanborough and the son of Thomas Laitt who was a labourer. Mary was a semptress living in Coombe and the daughter of John Launchbury (deceased). They each signed their own name on the register and the witnesses to the marriage were Benjamin Berry and Eliza Laitt[4].
Mary's marriage stated that she was a widow but her father's name was recorded with the same surname. In fact she was the daughter of John Edginton not John Launchbury.
