Research Notes

Unable to locate the 1850-1860 Census records from his father, Samuel's household. Also, unable to locate the 1920 Census records for William and Virginia, although there are city directories from 1921 that showed Wm A Edmiston (Virginia), v-pres and cashr Monongahela Natl Bnk, 406 Market.

1880 Census showed that William reported his father was born in Scotland, but was more likely an error by the enumerator. William's father Samuel was born in Fulton County, Pennsylvania.
