Edsall family bible
Argument for William as son of John Edsall & Elizabeth Wilcox: Secondary sources. In A History of Greene and Jersey Counties, Illinois (Springfield, 1885; WorldCat #3306452), John Edsall of Cayuga County, New York is listed as Coe Edsall’s father. Coe Edsall is William’s brother. Given William’s date of birth from the Edsall/McVey Bible, he could only be the son of Elizabeth.
