"Adam was a stowaway on a slave vessel from Scotland - landed in Pennslyvania, and shortly thereafter migrated to South Carolina."
This story was written down by William Agurs Drennan weeks before his death in 1920. His mother, Elizabeth Moore Agurs, was a grandaughter of the stowaway.
Adam bought 100 acres Feb 2, 1778 and sold 2 acres to Rocky Creek Reformed Presbyterian church in 1791. Edgar's meeting house land ceded by Adam was called Old Brick Church after the log structure was removed and brick church built in 1810. Buried in unmarked grave in the Old Brick Church cemetery, Chester County, South Carolina. *NOTE: There is no "Old Brick Church Cemetery" in Chester County, although there is one in neighboring Fairfield County.
