Peter Ellery was born in 1798, christened on 21-Sep-1800 in Magwan-In-Prydar, Cornwall, England. He was a son of Peter Ellery and [[Hicks-7468|Johanna Hicks.
He migrated to the Colony of New South Wales (Australia) aboard the Orient in 1839. [1]

Our family also has the Ellery forebear family's tickets of passage on the "Orient", and state records confirm Peter and Susannah nee Poyner)'s arrival, with 4 children and Susannah's brother Francis, on 4th April 1839.
They settled at Seaforth, near Manly, New South Wales and are well known in local and state records.
