Biography

Myrtle Elwood Ellinger was born on 17 August 1896 in Albemarle, Virginia, United States. She was the daughter of George Edgar Ellinger and Georgianna Watts Rea.[1]

In 1900 she was living in Samuel Miller District, Albemarle, Virginia, United States.[2] The household included Edward Ellinges 33, wife Georgie Ellinges 22, daughter Myrtle Ellinges 3, and daughter Mary Ellinges 1. Edward and Georgie had been married 4 years. Georgie was the mother of 2 children, both living. Edward was a day laborer.

In 1910 she was living in Samuel Miller, Albemarle, Virginia, United States.[3] The household included G E Ellinger 42, wife G W Ellinger 30, daughter Myrtle Ellinger 12, daughter Mary Ellinger 11, son Chas Ellinger 8, daughter Virginia Ellinger 5, daughter Alma Ellinger 3, and son Edgar Ellinger 0. George and Georgie had been married 13 years. Georgie was the mother of 6 children, all living. George was a farmer on a general farm.

Clarence W Grasty and Myrtle Ellinger were married on 2 October 1916 in Albemarle County, Virginia, United States.[4][5]

In 1920 she was living in Bedford, Virginia, United States.[6] The household included Clarence W Grasty 25, wife Myrtle E Grasty 23, daughter Katherine L Grasty 2, and daughter Dorothy M Grasty 0. Clarence was a farmer with a fruit farm.

In 1930 she was living in Forest, Bedford, Virginia, United States.[7] The household included John P Grasty 77, son Clarence W Grasty 38, wife Myrtle E Grasty 33, daughter Catherine L Grasty 12, daughter Dorothy M Grasty 10, brother-in-law John B Hughson 72, and boarder Georgia M Chocklette 21. John and Clarence were horticulturists and owned a commercial orchard.

In 1940 she was living in Forest Magisterial District, Bedford, Virginia, United States.[8] The household included Clarence W Graysty 45, wife Myrtle E Graysty 43, and daughter Catherine L Graysty 22. Clarence was an orchardist.

In 1950 she was living in Lynchburg, Virginia, United States.[9] The household included John A Gleason 31 years, wife Catherine G Gleason 32 years, son, father-in-law Clarence W Grasty 55 years, and mother-in-law Myrtle E Grasty 53 years. John was a salesman in a retail stationary store. Clarence was a plumber for a construction company.

She died on 27 December 1975 in Lynchburg, Virginia, United States[10] and was buried in 1975 in Lynchburg, Lynchburg City, Virginia, United States.[11]
