Biography

Alfred Ellis was born on 5 Nov 1804, the last born son of James and Celia Ellis. Alfred Ellis apparently lived all his life in Teays Valley in Putnam County. His wife, Mary Morris, came from the Kelly’s Creek area of Kanawha County. Mary Morris married Alfred Ellis in 1827. He and Mary had nine children with our ancestor James Thomas Ellis being born in 1832 in Teays Valley, Putnam County, Virginia (West Virginia.)
