Mattheus Roelandsz Elsevier was born about 1655 in Middelharnis, Zuid-Holland, Nederland. He was the son of Roeland Mattheusz and Jannetje Jacobsdr Coning.
Marriage
Mattheus married Leentje Stevensdr Nieuwenhoven on 5 May 1680 in Den Bommel, Zuid-Holland, Nederland.[1] She was the daughter of Steven Jansz Nieuwenhoeven and Sara Cornelisse.

After the death of his first wife, Leentje, Mattheus married Neeltje Leendertsdr Bosschieter on 30 Apr 1684 in Middelharnis, Zuid-Holland, Nederland.[2] She was the daughter of Leendert Gerritsz Bosschieter and Jannetje Leendertsz van der Braak.
Mattheus Roelandsz Elsevier died at the age of about 39 years old and was buried on 8 Feb 1695 in Middelharnis, Middelharnis, Zuid-Holland, Nederland.[3]
