Kathleen Mavourneen was born in 1877 in Harrismith in the Orange Free State.
She was 17 years of age when she married Izak Johannes Meyer in Vryheid. Two children were born of this marriage before he died in 1897.
Kathleen then married Hubert Mason Howell in 1900, also in Vryheid. He died on the family farm Rockwood in Dewetsdorp in 1927. Two daughters and a son were born of this marriage.
Kathleen died on 28 September 1951 at Lincluden Street, Rugby; a suburb of Cape Town. She was cremated at the Maitland Crematorium.
On her husband's estate papers, the details of her own are pencilled in: Ref 285/52 filed on 15/3/52. This estate is available, with transcribed death notice, on FamilySearch.[1]
