Robert Bruce Emmick (1841 - 1865)

Biography

He was the son of Henry and Sarah Gamble Emmick. Prior to his enlistment in 1864 he is listed in Morris, Tioga, Pennsylvania as a laborer registering to enlist on Aug 19th, 1863. He married Sarah Ann Casselberry on Mar 13, 1864 just months before his enlistment in the 207th Regiment. On April 2, 1865 he was wounded at Fort Damnnation on the Jerusalem Plank Road. He was shot in the ribs and stomach during this skirmish. He later died of his wounds in Alexandria, Virginia. He is buried in Alexandria National Cemetery in plot 3071 according to the US National Internment Control Form database.

He had a memorial brick at the Civil War Monument at the Muncy Cemetery, Muncy, Lycoming, Pennsylvania.

He is possibly a descendant of the Pine Creek Gambles.

He died of a stomach wound he received in battle. ^[1]
