Biography

John Calvin Engler born in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania on 12 Sep 1892. He was the third of four children born to Franklin Eugene Engler and Estella Coolbaugh. He married Thursa Jane Long at Wilkes-Barre on 20 Sep 1916, and the couple raised four children: Dorothy Irene, John L., Earl, and William. In 1917, he worked with his brother, Franklin, as a driver for the Miller Oil Company. In 1920, he worked as a helper at a furniture store. John died in Dallas, Luzerne, Pennsylvania on 16 Oct 1951. He is buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania.[1]
