Stephen English was a Virginia colonist.

Stephen English was born about 1726 in Hanover County Virginia. He is the son of John English and Mary Haynes. He married Dinah Haynes about 1752 in Prince Edward County Virginia.

• Fact: http://familysearch.org/v1/LifeSketch The following is information Robert Grant, a renown Bedford County, Virginia scholar - He has published five volumes entirely consisting of every court recd, etc in Bedford Co., Va. on Thomas Wright AND CONNECTED FAMILIES SUCH AS THE PATES AND THE ENGLISH FAMILIES ETC. He recently sent to me the following on Anthony Pate Sr who married Sarah English.

Anthony Pate Sr was born probably before 1706. He married Sarah English probably before 1738. This is based in part on deeds set forth below and in part on Hanover County Court Record Book (1733-1735) which listed a court order allocating John English's estate 1/3 to his wife and listed the decedent as indebted to Anthony Pate. In addition, the inventory and appraisement of the estate of Anthony Pate Sr., husband of Sarah English included a debt of 7 shillings due from Stephen English.
