John Epps is the son of Joshua Epps who was born perhaps about 1717 and who left an undated Will proved 19 March 1778. He resided in Halifax County where he was deeded 100 acres on the south side of Banister River by William Wynne, 16 Jun 1750, and was exempted from the payment of public and county levies, Oct 1774. He married Elizabeth _ [1]

Children include Mary Epps Mary Epps who married David Powell of Halifax County who also married (2) 17 Nov 1796, Susannah Biggers Carter and before 8 March 1802 daughter Patty married George Reaves of Wilkes County. The Epps line is Francis, 1st Generation, Francis, 2nd generation, William, 3rd Generation, Francis, 4th Generation, John 4th Generaiton, Joshua, 5th Generation, Mary married David Powell. [2]
