DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Johannes by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Johannes:
The story I heard, and it's at least negatively confirmed by the passenger list, is that Johannes died in the Palatinate and his widow and three sons came to Pennsylvania on the Samuel in 1739. I've seen a couple versions of the 110 passenger list, and another list of 110 men taking the loyalty oath to the King of Great Britain on the same day that the Samuel landed. One of the lists is here https://www.olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/palship23.shtml
