In 1880, Lazarus (32, and a huckster was living in Claiborne with his wife ^[3] Elisibeth [sp], and their children, Phebe (12, attending school), William (7), Thaddeus (4) and Corna (2).

In 1895, Lazarus was appointed Post Master of Sprindale Tennessee^[9]

In 1900, Lazarus (55, farmer, owns property) was living in Claiborne with his wife, Elizabeth and ^[4] their children, Martha (20), James (18, farm laborer, attending school) and Charie (15, farm laborer, attending school). Thomas Vannoy (46, farmer and cousin) is also living with them. To date, Elizabeth has had ten children, but only five are living.

In 1910, Lazarus (65, farmer, owns property) was living in Claiborne with his wife, ^[5] Elizabeth (62) and their children, Columbus (24, farm laborer on home farm) and Charlie (22, farm laborer on home farm). His sister Rutha (40) is also living with them.

Lazarus Estes died on 7 Jul 1918 in Claiborne County, Tennessee.^[10][11]
