In 1860, Lazarus (12) was still living in Claiborne with his parents John (40, shoemaker), and [7] Rutha (35). Others living in the house were his sisters and brother; Elizabeth (8), Margaret (6), George (3) and Martha (6 months old). His family owned $173 of personal real estate.
On 6 Feb 1867 Lazarous Estes and [8] Elizabeth Vanoy were married in Claiborne, Tennessee, United States.
In 1870, Lazarus (21, farmer) was still living in Claiborne, with his wife [2] Elizabeth (21), and their two children Phebe (2), and Rutha (3 months old). Margaret Bray (14, attending school) was also living with them.
In 1880, Lazarus (32, and a huckster was living in Claiborne with his wife [3] Elisibeth [sp], and their children, Phebe (12, attending school), William (7), Thaddeus (4) and Corna (2).
In 1895, Lazarus was appointed Post Master of Sprindale Tennessee[9]
In 1900, Lazarus (55, farmer, owns property) was living in Claiborne with his wife, Elizabeth and [4] their children, Martha (20), James (18, farm laborer, attending school) and Charie (15, farm laborer, attending school). Thomas Vannoy (46, farmer and cousin) is also living with them. To date, Elizabeth has had ten children, but only five are living.
In 1910, Lazarus (65, farmer, owns property) was living in Claiborne with his wife, [5] Elizabeth (62) and their children, Columbus (24, farm laborer on home farm) and Charlie (22, farm laborer on home farm). His sister Rutha (40) is also living with them.
Lazarus Estes died on 7 Jul 1918 in Claiborne County, Tennessee.[10][11]
