Biography

Henry Europe is a part of US Black heritage.

Henry J Europe married Lorene Saxon on 30 April 1867 in Mobile, Alabama, United States.[1]

In 1870 Henry and Laurine Europe were living in Mobile where Henry was a teacher. They had two daughters, Minnie (2) and infant Ida. Also in residence were M Henderson (female 50) and Sarah Henderson (27). There were also three young children with the surname of Harris: Eugene (8), Henry (6) and Charles (2).[2][3]

He taught in a Freedmen's School in Mobile, Alabama.[4]

While in Mobile, Henry created an account with the Freedmen's Bank in 1873. He was living in Mobile at the time and was employed as a mail clerk. He was married to Lorraine and had two children at the time, Minnie and Eda. Henry identified he was the son of Judge and Cerina Europe and that his siblings were Julia, Mary, Mesia, and Robert Europe.[5]

In 1880 the family was living on Durham Street in Mobile. Henry and Laura had four children at home, Minnie (12), Ida (10), John (5) and infant James.[6]

He passed away in 1899.[7]
