Elinor Owen (nee Evan) 1808-c.1844
Elinor Owen was baptised on June 5th, 1808, the daughter of Robert and Jane Evan (nee Roberts) of Llangwm in Denbighshire. She was the youngest of at least seven children.
On the 19th of February, 1830 Elinor Evans married William Owen (b.c.1805) of Ysbyty, Merionethshire. Both were living in Llangwm at the time and the marriage took place at Dinmael.[1]
Son Robert was baptised in Llangwm on the 19th of June, 1831 and husband William`s occupation was noted as Labourer (as it was with some of his other children`s baptisms). On the 3rd of March, 1833, when daughter Anne was baptised, the family abode was at Typobty (The Bakery), Llangwm.
Soon after this the family moved to Fronbellaf House, as noted on the baptism for Jane on the 15th of March, 1835. In 1838 Catherine was born. Infant Eleanor was born in 1839 but died the same year and was buried on the 14th of May. Again, the register shows Fronbellaf.
On the Census of 1841 the house is written as Vronbella, in Llangwm, Corwen Union, Denbighshire. William`s occupation is as an Agricultural Labourer. Eight year old Anne does not appear with her family on this census, but she can be found at Gwernyfran, the home of her uncle and aunt, John and Mary Roberts. Mary is Elinor`s sister.
William Owen junior was born in 1847.
