Biography

Lois Evarts was born 3 August 1766 in Sunderland, Bennington County, Republic of Vermont. Her parents were Abner Evarts and Susannah Scoville.[1][2]

She married Benjamin Bacon on 25 October 1787 in Sunderland.[3] They had children.

  1. Thirza Bacon was born 25 February 1789 in Sunderland.[4] She died childless in 1822 in Sunderland.
  2. Alvin Bacon was born 31 August 1791 in Sunderland.[5] He died childless in 1815 in Sunderland.
  3. Enos Bacon was born 9 September 1793 in Sunderland.[6] He married Lucy Savage, but had no children. He died in 1821 in Delphi Falls, Onondaga County, New York.
  4. Benjamin Bacon was born 11 May 1795 in Sunderland.[7] He married Elizabeth Sloan Brevard in 1821 and had many children. He died in Pulaski, Hancock County, Illinois.
  5. Lois Bacon was born 11 May 1801 in Sunderland.[8] She seems to have died young.
  6. Hiram Bacon was born 11 May 1801 in Sunderland.[9] He married Margaret R McMillan. They had at least one child. Hiram died 1846 in Sunderland.
  7. Giles B Bacon was born 12 May 1807 in Sunderland.[10] He married annis Vails and had many children. He died 1882 in Sunderland.
  8. Lois Bacon was born 29 Jul 1809 in Sunderland.[11] She never married or had children. She died 1888 in Augusta, Hancock County, Illinois.
  9. Abner Evarts Bacon was born 4 December 1811 in Sunderland.[12] He married Abigail Bowker in 1846 and had children. He died 1882 in Augusta, Hancock County, Illinois.

Lois died at an age of seventy-eight on 11 July 1845 in Sunderland. She is buried in the Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland, Vermont.[13][14]
