Biography

Marilyn was born in 1922. She is the daughter of Harry and Chrystal Fackler. Her mother died shortly after giving birth to her brother, when Marilyn was only two and a half years old. After her mother died, her father moved to Lorain, Ohio, and Marilyn was raised by the Fackler family in Lafayette.^[1] She married Cary Younkman in 1941 and they had three children, Jerilyn Joyce (b 1946), Nancy Ann (b 1948) and Craig Atley (b 1951). She is buried with her husband in Lafayette Cemetery.^[2]

Research Notes

According to Rush McCleary^[3], Marilyn's name is 'Rose Marilyn', listing Marilyn herself as source of information. However, the name on her headstone is simply 'Marilyn', and the Findagrave editors list her as 'Marilyn R.' In Carey Younkman's obituary (available on Findagrave^[4]), her name is given as 'R. Marilyn'.
