Biography
Sir Thomas Fairfax is the earliest common ancestor of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Katherine Middleton & Prince William, making them 15th cousins.
His wife Anne (or Agnes) gascoigne was the 5xG granddaughter of King Edward III through his son Lionel of Clarence. This is Katherine Middleton's earliest royal line. She is also the 13rh Great aunt of Queen Elisabeth II through her mother.
Sir Thomas married Anne (or Agnes) Gascoigne, dau of Sir William Gascoigne of Gawthorpe, who married Margaret, daughter of Henry Percy, Earl of Northumberland. Margaret Percy was a second cousin of King Henry VIII, a first cousin once removed of Edward IV and Richard III, and a 3XG granddaughter of Edward III. Sir Thomas & Anne had 6 sons and 7 daughters: Sir Nicholas (b 1499) William (his twin, b 1499), Thomas, Miles, Guy, Robert, Anne, Margaret, Isabell, Elisabeth, Dorothy, Katherine & Unknown.
