Louis Beaumont Falgout was born about 1808 in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, USA. He was the son of George Antoine Beaumont Falgout and Marie Marguerite Chauvin. He married three times and had eight children with first wife Heloise Champagne during their 17 year marriage (some may have died before adulthood) and one additional child with his third wife, Marcelline who was about 20 years younger than he. Census data indicates he was a farmer.
1840 Census - Residence: Lafourche Interior. The US census of 1840 contains very basic demographic information. It merely indicates that there were three free white males and three free white females in the home. Based on the ages they could be Louis and his wife, Heloise Champagne (married in 1826) with 4 children under 20 years old.[1]

Research Notes
The 1860 census indicates that Louis Falgout and Marceline Destreval were living with children from previous marriages. The death record for Louis indicates that Eloise Champagne was his first wife and Marceline Destreval was his third wife, but it does not provide a name for his second wife. However, her probate documents list him as her husband as well as a marriage license.
