Research Notes
) The Joshua Hempstead Diary chronicles the death of Moses Jr, Moses Sr, and Sarah Wife of Moses Sr (old goodee Fergo). Based on the seven other "old goodee" references, the best guess as to its meaning is that it was a term given to grandmothers (a word easy to say by grandbabies). Also notes that Moses Jr. had been sick or disabled for some time as the church took up a benevolent offering for his family.
