William Farley married Elizabeth Thompson and soon afterward moved further west, settling in what is now Lee County, Va., where they remained for the rest of their lives.
Among other children, they had three sons, Thomas, Jesse and Henry, who all moved across the mountains into Harlan County. Forrest Farley, one of William's brothers, also moved across the mountains into Kentucky, living mostly in Perry County.
The youngest of the three brothers who migrated to Harlan was Henry, born about 1800. He is also thought to hae had two marriages with the identity of the first wife unknown. They had at least one child, Henry who was born about 1822 and married Martha Ledford in 1845.
It is known that the elder Henry married Mary Marks in 1825 in Harlan County. They had five children: William M. who married Louisa Ledford; Mary who married George W. Crider; Elizabeth who married Benjamin F. Noe; John M. and Martha Jane. [1]
Henry Farley is my great great great grandfather. I descend from his son *William who married Mary Howard. Henry gave William the family home located on Watts Creek in Harlan County.[16]
Jerry, Are you talking about Henry Farley b.1800 who married Mary/Polly Marks? If so who are there children? I believe they had a son

I was entering information received from Mary K. from the
History of Logan County, and would like documentation of the
other children listed as born to William "Hopping Bill"
Farley, who are not listed in this article. Excerpt reads:
William Farley, a brother of Capt. Henry Farley, of Peach
Creek, settled near the mouth of Buffalo. He married a Miss
Thompson of albemarle County, VA., and was the father of
four sons and one daughter. His sons were William -- known
as "Punch Bill" -- who married a Miss Alen of Boone;
Thompson, who married a Miss Chapman; Nimrod (father of the
late Senator Farley of California), married a Miss Slater,
and Henry, who married a Miss Starr.
:The children we have listed are the four above, plus: Jesse,
William S. who married Henrietta Brewer, Forrest, Francis
and Mary Polly. Mary is probably the daughter mentioned, but
would like to know about the others.
Henry and his brother Jesse each had a son named William and there has been a lot of confusion on which was which. William who was Henry's son, married Mary Howard daughter of Wilkerson Howard.
