He married Margaret Blagburne on 3 July 1570 at Halifax, Yorkshire, "Richard Ferrar et Margareta Blagbrune".[1][2]
Richard died in 1610 and was buried at Heptonstall on 20 April 1610, "Ric(hard) Ferrar de Ayr(ingden)".[3] He left a will dated 7 April 1610 and proved 4 October 1610 by Margaret his widow. "Richard Ferrer of Erringden, Yorks., clothier. To be buried in the churchyard of Heptonstall. I will that my goods be divided into three equal parts whereof one part shall descend to Margaret now my wife, one other part shall be equally divided amongst John Farrer, William Ferrer, Sara Farrer and Henrie my children, and the third part, commonly called the dead mans, I refer to myself for my burial, etc. I give to Marie the wife of George Fairebancke, Alexander Bradshaw my son-in-law, Grace wife of Anthony Gemyes, Joice wife of Samuell Hargreaves, [small sums]. Residue to my said children equally. Margaret my wife sole executrix. Witnesses: Gabrieli Bordall, Edward Radcliffe, William Hindle."[4][5]
