Myrtle was born in 1898. She was the daughter of John Farrow and Ida Corlett. She was murdered in 1962. [1]
Myrtle was the widow of Herbert Fray. She was murdered in her apartment at 10911 Lake Ave., Cleveland, Ohio. Evidence indicates she knew the murderer since she apparently let the individual in. She was brutally beaten to death. Residents were awakened by screams at 4 a.m. but they quickly subsided and their source was not found out. The body was discovered by a janitor the next morning. The murder was never solved. There is a possible connection to the infamous Marilyn Sheppard murder: Myrtle's sister, Ethel M. Durkin, was later also murdered in 1984. Ethel's murderer was Richard Eberling. Interestingly, Eberling was the window-washer some suspect of being the real murderer of Sam Sheppard's wife Marilyn in 1954. Eberling was also an acquaintance of Myrtle Fray. Their sister Sarah Belle Farrow Dessauer also died under suspicious circumstances.
