CULBERTSON -- Walter L. Fassler, 87, died Thursday (April 16, 1987) at the El Dorado Manor in Trenton. He was born February 22, 1900 in Bladen to William and Nancy (Lewis) Fassler.
He moved to Culbertson in 1907 and attended school and lived all of his life in the Culbertson area.
He married Margaret Brown at St. Francis, Kansas on September 13, 1933.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret in 1979; two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Milton (Mary Ellen) Briggs of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Mrs. Terry (Margaret) Byrd of Lavonia, Michigan; and Mrs. Clarence (Kay) Jankovits of Culbertson; four sisters, Doris Thompson and Neva Ball, both of McCook, Marion Drain of Trenton, and Lucille Squyres of Carlsbad, New Mexico; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home of McCook with the Rev. Jerry Sprock officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery. Memorials are being accepted in his name and left at the funeral home.
