Biography

John was born August 16, 1670 in York County, Virginia to Robert and Mary Ferguson.^[1]

John Ferguson married Elizabeth Davis,^[2] and they had four children^[1][3] born in Charles parish, York county, Virginia:

1. William Ferguson, born January 10, 1698/99 (January 10, 1699/00^[4]), Charles Parish, d. Dec. 11, 1735, Charles Parish^[1]
2. Davis Ferguson, b. Nov. 9, 1697,^[1] Sept04,1700^[4] (he's not named in will)
3. Mary Ferguson, b. Feb. 20, 1702/03^[1]
4. John Ferguson, b. Sept. 23, 1706^[1]

A note following the transcript of his will has death date as February 6:

"The above named John Fergason (Ferguson) (b. 16 Aug 1670) d. 6 Feb 1707/8, according to the Charles Parish Register.^[5]

2. ↑ Ferguson Direct Line has her birth as 1662, but that puts her 8 years older than John, if his birth in 1670 is correct. Perhaps 1662 was a typo for 1672? Or maybe 1670 is wrong? The same source shows his mother Mary as born 1645 (in Charles Parish), which fits with father Robert, born in 1641 (in Scotland; he died in Charles Parish, York County, on October 1, 1681).
