George Ferguson was born in Ireland.

George Ferguson migrated from Ireland to United States around 1894.

George was born 5 August 1876 at Killycurragh, Derryloran, County Tyrone, Ireland. He is the son of William Ferguson and Esther Ferguson. ^[1]

He emigrated to Philadelphia around 1894. Over there, he worked as an electrician. ^[2]

He passed away 16 December 1935 and is buried at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in the same plot as brother John. He was unmarried. ^[3]

Research Notes

The death cert gives a birth date of 19 January 1887 which is somewhat different from the civil birth of 5 August 1876. However I think it must be the correct person's certificate:

• The parents' names are correct and the county Tyrone is correct.
• He is buried in the same plot as John Ferguson (1859-1945)
• He loses a couple of years every census.
• The death cert and the 1917 war draft both call him a "watchman"; but the draft card gives a birth date of 10 July (different again!)

The death informant was Miss Mema Ferguson.
