Biography

Alexander was the son of John Fergusson and Christina McGregor.

He was baptised on 7 April 1822 in Fortingall, Perthshire, Scotland.^[1]

The marriage between alexander Fergusson and Elizabeth Stewart occured in 1854.

In the 1861 census Alexander (age 39), Farmer Of 167 Acres Employing 2 Men & 1 Boy, was the head of household at Middleton Farm, Old Kilpatrick, Dumbartonshire. This was a large household with lodgers, servants, visitors , his mother and and his sister, along with his wife and family ^[2]

By 1871 census Alex (age 49), worked as a Live Stock Agent, and lived with his family at 131 Annfield St, Glasgow St John, Lanarkshire. Seven cchildren, his wife and her sister Margaret Stewart aged 36 and a visitor made up the household^[3]

his wife Elizabeth died in 1875

Alexander died on 30 July 1896 in Glasgow, Scotland.^[4]
