Ursula Winifred Fernyhough was born in 1912. She was the daughter of British immigrants who came from Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire to New Zealand. Her father was John Fernyhough (Jack) and her mother was his second wife, Alice Mary Norgan.
Ursula first appears on New Zealand Electoral rolls in 1935, as a young unmarried woman of about 23 years of age, living in Auckland. She shows as still single in 1954, but in 1963 has taken on her husband's name.
While her marriage date is not confirmed, it is believed she married George Blyth Paterson when she was in her late 40's or early 50's.
Ursula died in 2009. Her final resting place is Totara Memorial Park in Thames, where she was interred on 16 April 2010 at 2PUBL-065-0018. This is the plot next to the one for her father, John Fernyhough, and her mother Alice.
