Katherine Ferrell Whaley was born at Smithville, DeKalb County, TN in1819, and married Seth Whaley in 1844. Moved to Lawrence County in 1851.Born March 12, 1819. Died May 30, 1902, at the home of her son-in-law.H. Hilpirt, 5 miles north of Mt. Vernon. Buried in the Mt. VernonCemetery. 1900 Census has Katherine Living with her daughter Elizabeth.It shows she had four children and two were still living.
