Biography

In Apr 1930 at the time of the 1930 US Census, head of household Mike M. Ferris (age 57, born in Syria) was employed as a Laborer in General Labor living in a home he owned valued at $2,500 at 3130 X Street in Sacramento, California with his wife Martha Ferris (age 52, born in Syria), their son William Ferris (age 17, born in ND) was employed as a Repair Man in a Tire Shop, and daughter Margaret Ferris (age 13, born in ND). Mike was 21 years old when first married; Martha was 16 years old when first married. Mike M. Ferris immigrated from Syria to the USA in 1890; Martha immigrated from Syria to the USA in 1891. Both of Mike's parents were born in Syria; both of Martha's parents were born in Syria. ^[1]

On 17 Apr 1940 at the time of the 1940 US Census, head of household Martha Ferris (age 60, born in Syria) was Widowed and living in a home that she owned at 3130 X Street in Sacramento, California with her son William (age 27, born in ND) employed as a Truck Driver for a Brewing Company, daughter Margaret Ferris (age 24, born in ND) employed as a Stenographer for a Retail Department Store, son James Ferris (age 35, born in ND), and daughter-in-law Maxine Ferris (age 36, born in CA) employed as a Clerk for District W.P.H.
