Doctor Carlo Ferucchio Fiaschi was born on 4th March 1880 at Thompson Square, Windsor, New South Wales, Australia. He was the third son of Thomas Fiaschi and Kate Reynolds. He was christened on 11th January 1881 in St Matthew's Church of England (Anglican Church), Windsor.[1]
Carlo served in South Africa during the Boer War with the New South Wales Lancers.[2] He returned on a second deployment following Federation, as a Lieutenant with the 1st Battalion, Australian Commonwealth Horse.
He practiced medicine in Lithgow, New South Wales.
Carlo married Alice Bertha Martin Ross Faull, daughter of Charles Martin Ross and Laura Sophia Maitland, on 31st August 1908 in St Phillip's Church of England (Anglican Church), Sydney, New South Wales.[3]
He passed away by suicide on 25th April 1910 at Mort Street, Lithgow, New South Wales. He was buried in Waverley Cemetery, New South Wales.[4] An obituary reported: "Dr Carlo Fiaschi was found lying on his bed at Lithgow today in a dying condition. He succumbed shortly afterwards. An inquest will be held. Dr Fiaschi was recently acquitted in connection with a charge arising out of the death of a young woman named Nightingale."[5]
