Biography

George Field was born about 1803 at Parramatta.

FIELD, George. Born in the Colony; settler at Evan; son of Edward (Senior) . 1824: Memorial (Fiche 3088; 4/1837A No.333 p.305). Reply, 26 Aug (Reel 6013; 4/3512 p.262) 1825 Apr 26: Signatory to a memorial by magistrates, settlers and stockholders of the District of Evan praying that the common near Castlereagh, recently given to Captain King on a ticket of occupation, be returned to its former purpose (Reel 6017; 4/5782 pp.299-301).[1]

George Field married Elizabeth Colless on 12/7/1824 in Castlereagh.[2]

In 1831 he had a son, George, with Elizabeth Landran/L'Andre/Landers.[3] The son, George, died in the same year.[4]

He then married Frances Mary Callaghan on 12/5/1834 in Castlereagh.[5]

George died on 16/5/1872 at MT PLEASANT “aged 69” parents: EDWARD FIELD and ELIZABETH (SARAH) MITCHELL
