Jacob File was born on August 17, 1816[1]in Indiana[2] to Henry File and Mary Hagler.
On June 27, 1839, Jacob married Elizabeth Cox in Bond County, Illinois.[3]
According to the 1850 census, Jacob lived with Elizabeth and their children, Hester, Phillip, Miranda, Rosetta, and Hannah in Bond County, Illinois.[2]
Jacob died on September 6, 1888. He is buried in the File Cemetery in Pocohantus, Illinois.[1]
