Biography
Richard Francis Fischer was born on Wednesday, July 14, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His parents were Anton Leo Maria Fischer (Wednesday, August 19, 1896 - Sunday, February 23, 1969) and Bertha Cicelia Moser Fischer (Sunday, August 22, 1897 - August 1991). Frances was the second of six children. Both parents were born and raised in Milwaukee. His father was a bookkeeper for United Storage.
On Tuesday, June 20, 1944, Richard joined toe U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged on Monday, March 18, 1946.
Richard' first marriage was to Mary Teresa Durkin (September 1926 - Sunday, October 15, 1967) following World War II. They were wed on Thursday, July 5, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia. They had two children: Kenneth Richard Fischer (Monday, January 26, 1948 - Sunday, August 9, 2009) and Debra Ann Fischer (Thursday, April 11, 1957 - Wednesday, May 24, 2006).
The second marriage for Richard occurred after Mary's passing on Sunday, October 15, 1967. He wed Pauline Marie Meek Dalo Shaffer. They lived in Largo, Pillenas County, Florida. Pauline was six years older than Richard. She passed away three years before Richard. It was on Friday, August 15, 1997, that Richard died. He was buried in a military cemetery, Bay Pines National Cemetery in Pinellas County, Florida, beside Pauline.
