Maurice FitzThomas FitzGerald (died from the plague Dec 1529; buried at Jerpoint, County Kilkenny) married his first cousin[1] Joan FitzGibbon, daughter of John FitzMaurice FitzGibbon, the 9th White Knight.
Joan & Maurice had a son James, 12th Earl of Desmond, and a daughter Ellen FitzGerald who married Thomas Butler, 1st Baron of Cahir.[2]
