Patrick was born around 1821 in Ireland. In the early to mid-1840s, he emigrated to Bradford, Yorkshire in England, likely to escape the Great Famine.
On 9 June 1846, Patrick married a fellow Irish immigrant, Mary McGeever, in Bradford. Together, they had 5 children.
According to census records, Patrick worked as a railway labourer and later as a glazier. His death certificate states he was a mason's labourer.
Patrick passed away at the age of 40 on 31 March 1862, from phthisis of 3 months duration, at his home at 113 Chapel Lane, Little Horton.
