Willis was born in 1943. He was the son of Robert Fletcher and Susie Blackburn. He passed away in 2015, and was buried at Jude-Fletcher Cemetery, Pilgrim, Martin County, Kentucky.[1]

Obituary

Willis Fletcher, age 71 of Lovely, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Cornerstone Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born on June 15, 1943 in Threeforks, Kentucky to the late Robert Wilson “ Bob” and Susie Blackburn Fletcher.

Willis was a member and a preacher of the Salem Church of the Sardis Association and was a retired dozer operator. He was a man with a strong love of God, family, friends and animals. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He is preceded in death by his loving, precious wife of 46 years, Sharon Elizabeth Baker Fletcher. They met on a blind date and were married 6 weeks later and enjoyed a never ending love. Through this union, 5 children were born; James Lee “Jimmy” (Naomi) Fletcher of Lovely, Kentucky, Mary Elizabeth (Gregg) Gray of Lexington, Kentucky, Susan Fletcher of Memphis, Tennessee, Willis Jr. (Tracy) Fletcher of Kermit, West Virginia and Ida Mae (Kenny) Goforth of Inez, Kentucky. Willis was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by 3 brothers and 1 sister; James (Roxie) Fletcher, Robert “Cat” (Faye) Fletcher, Elias (Ruby) Fletcher all of Lovely, Kentucky and Pauline (Estil) Preece of Wolf Creek, Kentucky.

Willis is preceded in death by brothers; Virgil Fletcher, infant brothers, Tommy and Johnny and sisters; Alice Delong, Edith Jude and Polly (Pod) Jude.

Funeral services will be held at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, Kentucky on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 1:00pm with Elbert Sesco and Harold Sesco officiating. burial will follow at the Fletcher Family Cemetery, Lovely, Kentucky. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, April 18, 2015 after 6:00pm and all day on Sunday after 10:00am. Arrangements are under the direction Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
