Matthew Daniel Flood was born in 1881, son of Matthew Daniel Flood and Mary Ann Quinn. He was also known as DAVY WILSON.
His siblings are Margaret, John Henry, William and a sister 'J' (Stephenson). [1]
Matthew Daniel Flood married Margaret Jane Oliver in 1903 in Melbourne, Victoria. [2]

In 1906 the Flood family lived at 48 Napier St, South Melbourne.
Wife Margaret passed away in 1909.
Matthew, single, a driver and aged 31, enlisted into the A.I.F on 1 December 1914. He was a Private, Regimental Number 1541 with the 7th Battalion, 3rd Reinforcement.
Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A54 Runic on 19 February 1915
He was appointed to Lance Corporal on 28 July 1916 in France with 59th Battalion. He departed England on 14 December 1918 and arrived in Australia in January 1919. [3]
After he returned from WW1 the Flood family lived in Carlton South, Victoria.
Matthew Flood married Emma Frances "Fanny" Elizabeth McNulty in 1928.
He passed away in 1937 [4] and was buried at Fawkner, Roman Catholic section - O - 2387 on 8 July 1937.
