John married a Mary McCAFFREY (1828-1906) about 1859. Mary was from Stuckan Glen near Clogher, County Tyrone. Known children were : Mary (b. 1864)

Patrick Flood (b. 1867) Patrick was Schoolmaster of the Edenmore NS. ( Which Edenmore?) Patrick's son Thomas Flood (b. 1909) was a Monsignor and Prior of St. Patrick's Purgatory, Lough Derg. Co Donegal.

Margaret (b. 1873)

John's brother Charles FLOOD (b. 1842) was Schoolmaster of the Knockconan NS Co. Monaghan from 1860-1907.

John passed away about 1885. [1]

Apparently, the Floods came from Co. Cavan to Co. Monaghan about 1750.

Peter FLOOD, Sr. rented land from Anketell Estate, Dernashallog (later known as Anketell Grove) in the parish of Donagh. He rented land in Tonintlieve, Carrickroe in the parish of Errigal Truagh. From there the name spread across the two parishes.

Peter FLOOD, Jr. went from Tontilieve to Drumbriston / Drumvern in 1826.

John FLOOD went from Tontintlieve to Dundian, near Emyvale.
