Services were conducted Sunday in the Granite Church of Christ with Ed Lobaugh officiating. Burial was in the Granite City Cemetery under direction of Greer Funeral Home. Celinda Elizabeth (Lizzie) Carothers was born March 16, 1885 in Jones County, Texas, the daughter of Joe and Barbara Armstrong and came to this area as a young girl to spend the rest of her life. She was married to John Harve Carothers on December 23, 1903 in Granite, he died in 1933. Surviving are her seven children, Frank Carothers of Granite, Mrs. Grady (Bessie) Smith, Sentinel, Jack of Lancaster, California, Henry of Torrence, California, Mrs. Garland (Fannie) Floyd of Santa Ana, California, Mrs. Glen (Alice) Maynard of Burbank, California and Mrs. Floyd (Ruth) Wilson of Lancaster, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
