James Flynn, the son of shoemaker Martin Flynn and his wife Mary King, was born in Toronto, Canada West (Ontario) on June 17, 1841. He too became a shoemaker, and took over his father's Toronto shoemaking business. He married Josephine Sanders (1847-1929) in Toronto on Oct. 24, 1866. Between 1871 and 1891 they lived in York Township, York County, Ontario. James died in Toronto on June 13, 1894, and is buried in Toronto's Mount Pleasant Cemetery.[1]
